Eco Friendly Plasma Nitriding Process

Conventional nitriding is potentially very hazardous to environment due to use of poisonous chemicals like cyanides and ammonia whereas plasma nitriding process uses non toxic & precisely controlled gas mixtures. Plasma nitriding process is hence recommended as an alternative, environmentally benign surface treatment process. A plasma nitriding system developed by FCIPT, a division of IPR with support of DST & GUJCOST is installed at IGTR Ahmedabad. The Facility is available for use of industries at Indo German Tool Room, Vatva, Ahmedabad.

Application of Plasma Nitriding Process

  2. Metal Casting & Moulding industries - moulds for non ferous metals and alloys
  3. Forging Industry - all kinds of dies for hammering and pressing (cold forging, impression forging, open die forging)
  4. Aluminum Industry- dies for casting and extruding
  5. Plastic Industry - Extruder screws, cylinders, moulds for injection moulding
  6. Machine Building - Shafts, spindles, slide- rails, instruments for cold & hot rolling dies and punches for deep
  7. drawing, pump cylinders, milling and drilling tools (milling cutters, rams, drills, taps ,broaches, etc)
